QUAERO CAPITAL has long been committed to be a responsible investor, integrating environmental, social and governance factor analysis into the strategy investment processes and constructively engaging with the companies in which it invests to work towards the adoption of best practice with respect to the management of these issues. Additionally, QUAERO CAPITAL is a signatory to the UN PRI and a member of the IIGCC. With the recent creation of a new ESG analyst role focused on sustainable investment principles, QUAERO CAPITAL is increasing its commitment to responsible investment.
United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment (UN PRI)
Since 2015, QUAERO CAPITAL has been a signatory to the United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment (UN PRI).
The PRI is the world’s leading proponent of responsible investment. It defines responsible investment as an approach to investing that aims to incorporate environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors into investment decisions, to better manage risk and generate sustainable, long-term returns.
The PRI acts in the long-term interests of its signatories, of the financial markets and economies in which they operate and ultimately of the environment and society. Its goals are to understand the investment implications of environmental, social and governance issues and to support signatories in integrating these issues into investment and ownership decisions.
QUAERO CAPITAL is gradually introducing the UN PRI’s responsible investment principles across the management of its investment strategies, and reports to investors progress made towards implementation.
QUAERO CAPITAL offers investment strategies taking specific environmental, social or ethical criteria into consideration namely in the management of Accessible Clean Energy, Infrastructure and European Small and Mid-Cap equities. More information about these strategies can be found here.
Institutional Investors Group on Climate Change (IIGCC)
QUAERO CAPITAL is a member of the Institutional Investors Group on Climate Change (IIGCC), the pre-eminent European forum for investors to collaborate on climate change and the voice for investors acting for a prosperous, low carbon future.
IIGCC provides investors with a collaborative platform to encourage public policies, investment practices, and corporate behaviour that address long-term risks and opportunities associated with climate change. Members consider it a fiduciary duty to ensure stranded asset risk or other losses from climate change are minimised and that opportunities presented by the transition to a low carbon economy – such as renewable energy, new technologies and energy efficiency – are maximised.
Climate change is of crucial importance to QUAERO CAPITAL. Climate issues present risks and opportunities for long-term investors.
