QUAERO CAPITAL’s Accessible Clean Energy fund awarded best alternative energy fund in Europe over 5 years

Geneva-based specialist asset manager QUAERO CAPITAL has seen its thematic fund Quaero Capital Funds (Lux) – Accessible Clean Energy A USD ranked Nr 1 in Europe over 5 years by the Refinitiv Lipper Fund Awards Europe 2021 in the “Equity Theme – Alternative Energy” category.

Unveiled on 13 April 2021, this prestigious award recognises the fund managers’ consistent risk-adjusted performance, based on a methodology focused on investors’ real needs that makes all the more sense in challenging times like 2020.

Managed by Martina Turner, the Accessible Clean Energy fund invests in companies worldwide across the entire clean energy value chain, such as power generation, technology, energy transmission and efficiency. Environmental, social and governance (ESG) criteria are integrated into the investment process.

Martina Turner said: “The advent of clean energy has triggered the fourth industrial revolution, driven by demography, development and technological change. Supported by massive investment projects such as the European Green Deal and the Biden Plan, renewable energy is definitely on the rise. Companies at the forefront of the sector now have strong, competitive and profitable business models. Their technologies are now proven and robust.”

Jean Keller, CEO of QUAERO CAPITAL, added: “We are very honoured to have the quality of our management recognised by this award which is a benchmark in our industry. I am particularly pleased that it rewards a strategy dedicated to a very important theme in which we believe strongly. Naturally, I would like to congratulate Martina Turner and her team, whose active and focused investment management has enabled them to outperform their peers.
