Sophie Bigeard joins QUAERO CAPITAL as Head of Multi-Asset strategies for France

QUAERO CAPITAL has recruited Sophie Bigeard as Head of Multi-Asset Strategies for its French subsidiary Quaero Capital (France) SAS. She will be in charge of developing and managing Multi-Asset mandates for French institutional clients. Before joining QUAERO CAPITAL, Sophie Bigeard was Head of UCITS Analysis and Selection for the OFI Group.

A multi-manager investment professional for 25 years, Sophie Bigeard began her career in 1995 at the Banque du Louvre, first as a mutual fund analyst and then as Head of External Partnerships. In 2002, she joined the Société Générale group in Luxembourg as a Fund of Funds Manager. In 2004, Sophie Bigeard joined OFI Asset Management as a Fund of Funds Manager and then as Head of Long Only Multi-Management. In 2017, she created and headed the UCI Selection team for the entire OFI Group. Sophie Bigeard holds a Master’s degree in Economics from the University of Paris II Panthéon Assas and a DEA in International Finance from Sciences Po Paris.

Multi-asset: a new centre of excellence

Following the launch in May of a global convertible bonds strategy, QUAERO CAPITAL further expands its range of investment solutions with multi-asset investment, which will be developed by Sophie Bigeard. The multi-asset strategy offered is primarily aimed at institutional clients wishing to commit to sustainable investment, in particular French pension insurance networks.

Meeting the challenges of tomorrow’s world

In all its strategies, QUAERO CAPITAL intends to actively promote the development of a positive economy, favouring responsible growth that respects people and the environment. In the new multi-asset strategy, this translates into the definition of an investment universe that meets these objectives. For fixed-income investments, priority is thus given to green or social bonds. Investments in convertible bonds give priority to loans to finance projects or companies that will shape the society of the future. As for equities, QUAERO CAPITAL incorporates ESG criteria at the very heart of its investment process and participates actively in their transformation, notably through an active voting policy.

Thierry Callault, Partner and Head of Business Development at QUAERO Capital, said “Sophie Bigeard is a recognised figure in the French multi-management industry and we are very pleased to benefit from her expertise and the quality of her contacts with institutional investors. In fact, the multi-asset strategy we have developed with her not only allows them to benefit from the substantial stimulus plans announced in Europe and the US, but more fundamentally to participate actively in financing the world of tomorrow.

Sophie Bigeard added “I am delighted to join Quaero Capital which has been able to make its mark and build a unique brand. Indeed, in an industry dominated by giants offering standardised computer-managed products, Quaero Capital stands out by placing people at the centre, not only by giving pride of place to investment managers with original and free thinking, but also by incorporating sustainability and commitment at the very heart of all its strategies.”
