Luigi Piccone

Head of Marketing

Luigi Piccone joined Quaero Capital SA in August 2017 as Head of Marketing.

He previously worked at Pictet Asset Management in Geneva as Senior Product Specialist and Head of the Sub-Advisory Business. He was managing the partnerships with delegated asset management companies and focusing on Pictet’s externally-managed funds investing in US equities, US High Yield bonds & Bank Loans and Convertible Bonds. Prior to assuming those responsibilities in 2012, Luigi was Senior Product Specialist, Product and Marketing Manager covering Pictet’s emerging markets equity funds.

Before joining Pictet in 2000, Luigi worked at Finanza & Futuro (Deutsche Bank Group) and Banca Mediolanum in Milan for a combined period of three years. He held the positions of Marketing and Product Manager for in-house asset management solutions, real estate funds, equity and fixed income funds domiciled in Italy, Luxembourg and Dublin. Luigi played a pivotal role in starting the Irish funds business on behalf of Mediolanum and launching the first Dublin domiciled funds for Italian distribution.

Prior to working in the financial sector, Luigi started his career in 1995 focusing on management consulting, marketing and strategic planning in advertising.

Luigi holds a Master’s degree (Hons) in Business Administration from Bocconi University in Milan.

Kombe Kandula

Client services, Operations & Marketing

Kombe Kandula joined QUAERO CAPITAL SA in 2014 as a member of the Client Services and Operations team.

Previously, from 2012 to 2014, she worked for Ernst & Young Company in their Human Capital department.

She holds a Swiss Federal Certificate of Capacity (CFC) in Administration and a Public Relations Certificate from the School of Communication in Lausanne (SPRI).

Sarah Geertsen


Sarah joined Quaero Capital in 2018.

Prior to joining Quaero Capital, Sarah worked on consultancy projects in Myanmar.
A graduate of Canterbury Christchurch University, Sarah began her financial career at 3A, the SYZ Group’s alternative investments division in 2008 where she held marketing and sales support roles.

Upon the creation of SYZ Asset Management in 2010, Sarah joined its business development and client relations efforts, focusing on UK institutional clients for six years.

She has also held corporate communications and investor relations responsibilities for a fund of hedge fund company listed on the Swiss and London stock exchanges.
